Tony is a specialist tax advisor and Chartered Accountant with almost 20 years’ experience in advising clients, fellow accountants, and lawyers from all over New Zealand on tax issues affecting their businesses and clients. He is a Principal with CEG Limited in Dunedin a leading boutique accounting and advisory business after cutting his teeth with a large Australasian mid-tier firm.
Tony has wide experience in all areas of taxation in New Zealand, with particular interest and expertise in tax issues for agribusiness, land transactions, succession planning, structuring business transactions, in and outbound investment, tax residency, and GST.
For over a decade, Tony has been a presenter for TEO Training and CCH, covering topics across a wide range of tax issues, presenting webinars and face-to-face training sessions throughout New Zealand. He is also a co-author for Thomson Reuters – New Zealand Taxation, a tax guide designed for students studying tax in New Zealand, and the 3rd Edition of the CCH Guide to Farming, Forestry and Fishing.
Recognised for his expertise in agribusiness, Tony has been a member of the CAANZ Rural Sector Committee since 2018. In this role, he liaises with CAANZ and IRD on legislative and tax policy changes affecting the rural sector.
